ZIP file restore problem

It's because you've compressed a compressed file, you'll have to either
a) turn off software compression before backup
b) turn off hardware compression before backup
c) Unzip the file before backup
You should be able to create a batch / shell script to unzip, backup, zip the file and use session_start_notify & session_notify to run the script.
