Hello All,
I am currently using Access 2000. I have a table called tblclient. In this table I have a field called zipcode and the data type was set as text. When I export out to Excel I get error at text instead of number. I have tried changing the field data type as number but it truncates the last four digits: Here is an example:
94111-4145

How can I correct this with a table filled with data already?
How can I prevent this from happening in the future when user start entering data?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion or help in this matter

I think the primary problem is that you're trying to treat it like numeric data. Because you are storing the "-" character, it is no longer numeric data. Treat it as a text field both in Access and Excel, and it should work better.

Good luck.
