Our Company has move from zen 2 to zen4 without testing and mirgrating. So the server is zen4 but all our work stations are zen2,my question is can i use automate import of my work stations so i can update the zen client or will i have to go to each work station and update the client manualy(over 600 hundred of them :((( ).
we dont have any work stations in our NDS i have search novell web site and it gives all the info for importing zen 3 to zen4 but nothing on zen2 to zen4. can i use the registry keys like in zen4 .what i would like to do is import the workstations so i can update the client.i have a app at force run(run once) to update the the client by user but we never have the same user sitting at the same work station plus we never have all the work stations on at the same time.any help would be nice

You might want to look back for docs that talk about migrating from zen 2-zen3...the import process isn't that much different between zen 3 and 4.

What I would probably suggest is if you have the Application launcher window being run on your workstations. Setup one of your zen4 servers for the import process (policy, nlm screens, etc) Then create a quick application object to push out either the registry key, or a host file entry for your workstations. This would get the information to your workstations and will then start to import.

Again, to update the clients, if you have the Application launcher running, you can create the application object to push out the client updates. To get past the different users logging into the same workstation, create a system requirement, based on one of the files that gets installed with the client. Set it up so that the client update will not run when xxx.xxx file exists, or the version of the file equals xxxx.
