ZABO 1

Hi All,

One of our users was using ZABO all these days and had no problems.However now the user logged in ZABO and tried to create a new document,Selecting the required universe and clicking ok.After doing this the user gets to see hourglass symbol for 1 min and nothing else happens(Cannot see the Classes and Objects screen).ZABO looks like it has frozen(However the mouse pointer turns normal,can be moved and clicking anywhere in ZABO doesn't evoke any reaction....No error message...Infact cannot even close the application.The only way left is to kill the task by pressing ctrl+Alt+Del.


Whats going on?

Any thoughts on this one will be appreciated.

Use the following steps to completely remove BusinessObjects from Computer (including registry keys): -

1. Login as administrator
2. Using the BusinessObjects Setup program, remove all BusinessObjects/WebIntelligence products installed on the computer
· Go to Start > Programs > BusinessObjects5.1> Setup
· Select all products (check the box) and remove.
3. Delete the “Program Files\Business Objects” folder from the “C” drive.
4. Open run (Start >Run), type “regedit” press enter, it opens registry.
5. Backup the registry before removing following keys
6. Remove the following keys
· HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects
· HKEY_LOCAL_USER\Software\Business Objects
7. In registry perform a search of the whole Registry
· In the registry editor go to “Edit” click Find/Find Next
· Type “Business” and delete only entries related to BusinessObjects software (not Microsoft Office or Other third party Applications)
· Do the same with “Webi” remove all entries
8. Reboot the machine
9. Reinstall ZABO from server.

It worked for me.Thanks for the Easy ,Elaborate, step-by-step instructions.I had the BO tech support guy through web conference...But we couldn't get anywhere near a solution...until I read your reply and bingo..it worked..thanks once again!!!!!!!
