I like the 9621G on my desk. Never had any issues with it. The 54xx series was solid. They looked funny, but worked great. I guess the 95xx series is a good replacement. The 14xx is just garbage. I'd like to get a 9641. I'd also love to find a place that will do a vinyl sticker to place on the phone to colorize it. I've played with the design tool, would be great to 'customize' these expensive phones. The charcoal/greyblack is dullll.
The 9611 blows away any other phone I've worked on, I've done a lot of Panasonic/NEC/ESI. It's a shame that they don't make a 96xx lower than the 9608. I got excited and saw documentation on a 9601 for the cheap clients only to learn it only works on the CM. They should have a 9604 and 9601 for IPO!
Definitely 9611g. Color screen so we can add impressive flashy screensavers, but still has enough appearance buttons to be useful. Would buy a 9616 if they made them! 9641 looks impressive, but not nearly as practical. Why they recommend these for high call volume/receptionists I don't know. The more appearance buttons the better. And screen labels next to the buttons just make sense.
The Avaya 8434 Digital Set hands down. Blue LED display with black background and a solid reliable phone. I first saw these at the service desk at Midwest Meijer stores in the late 1990's. Still not as awesome as Nortel M2616, but definitely my next favorite set.
I also have to agree with HSM 9641G and the reason is that I just love to walk in the door and have the bluetooth headset connect without me doing anything.
Solid voice and Gig speed ports and the ability to make buttons appear on 2 rows rather than scrolling helps enormously.
The touch screen is the only thing I don't really like about it but that is due to the size of my fingers
Any of the Avaya T or M Series (formarly Nortel) - no annoying firmware downloads that take 10 minutes, if it works the first time at all, and then having to try multiple ports before the firmware will load correctly.
...and for those calling Jesus on the porcelain telephone, Avaya CCC (Ceramic Close Coupled).
- Two non-programmable buttons
- Water cooled
- One-way speech
Kind regards
Gunnar
