Secured using user level security.

Application worked fine yesterday.

Today, all users getting this message.

Tried recovering a copy of the mdw from the last back up; same result.

Since the backup copy produces the same result is there another glitch that is causing this problem?

I have the basic info on the mdw set up (name/org/Workgroup ID) as well as my use name and pid. If I need to recreate the mdw will this be all I need? (unfortunately, I don't have info on the groups I created.)

In serious need of help.

Hi Larry,

Did you try joining another workgroup? Try the default system.mdw and see if the problem goes away.

Also try opening your mdw in access and do a repair.

Thanks for the advice.

As it turns out, it was a corrupted back end. This db was originally a split Access 97. The front end was converted to 2K with the back end left in 97 for those who had not yet been upgraded to Office 2K. The security file was created in Access 97.

In the past when we have had a corruption problem we would get a different message (if I remember, something about not being able to open the db). This unfamiliar message somewhat freaked me out.

When I tried to open the back end I received the corrupted message, ran the repair and all is now well and I can enjoy the weekend.
