Yet another `please check my site`

I've just implemented a drastic site change, and would appreciate it if anyone would go by:


and check for any goofiness in their browser.

Any design pointers would also be appreciated, given that I am missing the Web page design gene. -----------------

Looks good in IE 5.5

I like the navigation bar at the top - especially the hi-lited "page you're on" tabs.

Any reason why the "Shop", "Framed Prints" & "Directory" pages don't have the nav bar? It spoils the consistency of the site.

Spotted one spelling mistuke (!) - on the page :-

selling for $129 - the same item well sell for under $30!

presumably, that should be we'll.

Wow! Milech and TandA, you are thorough! I know that took a lot of time, and I genuinely do appreciate it. You did something for me that I'm poor at (QA on my own work).

Any reason why the "Shop", "Framed Prints" & "Directory" pages don't have the nav bar? It spoils the consistency of the site.

Yes, there is a reason, though for the Directory its a weak one:

Shop - leads you to a dynamically-generated catalog and ordering system (powered by Miva Merchant). Merchant has its own layout and such, and while it is technically possible to drastically alter Merchant's look and feel, it would take zillions of hours and tinkering to do it. Definitely not worth it, and dangerous (to me) to monkey too much with something that's working fine and a tad delicate.

Framed Prints - actually takes you to an entirely different domain/site/company. I want them to have different looks, to emphasize that they are different companies and different ownership.

Directory - this is powered by a set of PHP scripts (MyThreads-Links) and MySQL database. While it uses a template, I've not gotten around to tinkering too much with that template. Weak argument, I know...especially given that it would probably only take a few hours to do it.

Again, many thanks to those who've responded so far. While I pride myself on my database development skills, and have been coding Web sites for several years, I still consider myself a novice at Web development - especially given that my Web site theme-development talents are woefully lacking. You've done me a great service. -----------------

I tested it in IE4.0 and NN4.73.

Looks great both !

Only at the page Shop (with the NN-version the linksnames under the images don't break after "-" sign. Now this page have in NN an unneccesary horizontal scrollbar. Put a space after the "-" sign or something.

I also mis a Home-button on this page. Not everybody want to buy immediately, but want to surf the rest of your page.

The home-button on the pages "framed-prints" only redirect to itself. Was that your intention or should it redirect to the homepage?

On the page "directory's" I also mis a way to go back to the real Homepage.

Ok, I'm not english (Dutch actually :-)) and because I looked quickly I didn't notice that.
But in that case I would open this site in a new browser (with target=_blank or someting) so people won't loose the focus from your site.

Hi, Robert,

I have checked out your site and it looks good mate!!

Only one small mistake that I noticed:

On your homepage you have the following in an image tag

alst="Vivian Flasch prints

Should that be an ALT tag??

Other than that, as I said before, looks good..

Erik: You're point is valid, and I think maybe I need to do something to emphasize that it is a separate site. Having it open in a new window, while it often irks me as a browser, would probably be best in this situation. Thanks for the tip.
