Hi guys,
I'm having the following problem.

I deploy XPSP2 on my clients if the system has NOT been added to the domain i'm able to turn on and off the firewall but when i added to the domain the option is grayed out.

Under control panel -> firewall i have a message that reads
"For your security some settings are controlled by Group Policy"

Does anyone know where in the policy editor i can enable the user to turn on or off the firewall? Thanks in advance

Are you running Small Bus Server 2003 by any chance? If so, you need to install a patch on the server to allow GP settings. See Microsoft's KB 872769 to download the patch.

Here's another link to another patch you should also install, so the MMC won't truncate the settings:

Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB842933):

twwabw,
I'm running SBS 2003. I applied both patches and i still can't get the options to unshade when install the patches both of them said they had been installed correctly the second patch the (KB842933) did work when i launched the MMC i didn not get the truncation error. However the other one did not seem to take place i re-installed and re-booted the server but nothing seemed to changed. Any other suggestions.
