My 2 XP PC's normally network just fine, with shared internet, a firewall etc.
But some times 'network name not found' errors appear and they cannot 'see' each other anymore. Mostly internet connection works just fine, it's only on Windows level (drive mappings, network neighborhood etc) that the both don't see each other. In the Event Viewer are errors about domain browser (i don't use domains, but peer-to-peer w. crosslinkedcable) re-election and not finding the server etc. Browser service is running, i have enabled NetBIOS over TCPIP...and i am stuck, can't solve it. I use DHCP for the XP client because ICS requires it. Sometimes the IP-adres changes and i have to minorly reconfigure my firewall, but i don't think that's the problem either. I am out of options on this one...

I would recommend you to use the same model of NIC for both PCs. (if it's possible)
Other option (not so good) : use HOSTS file on one PC to write down an other PC IP address and NetBIOS name. The same one must be done on the second PC.
