XP will not see Brother Printer HL-1440

Printere is found and installed normally using original disk that came with printer. After install get message that cannot change parameters on printer because access is not authorized.

Have tried cold start, download from Borhter site, etc.

Be careful of what Printer Language is used. We have a Dell printer that worked fine with NT, but when the Computer was converted to Win2k, the printer stopped working. This turned out to be a Printer Language problem.
