I'll leave the details to the more expert but I think this means there is a software problem causing the system to hang, and under XP there is an option to have the system restart automatically if it hangs. I had a similar problem when I first installed XP and I eventually discovered it was the Logitech keyboard drivers. Uninstalled those and never had a problem again.

Are you saying that you can use the system for a while and then it restarts, or are you saying that it restarts before the O/S has properly loaded?

If the former, then it's probably a heat issue. Check airflow in your case and CPU temp.

If the latter, then it's almost certainly a driver configuration issue. Go into XP in safe mode and remove the vid driver. In the BIOS, enable the setting that goes something like "Enable IRQ for VGA" (most BIOSes have something similar - many gfx cards hate sharing IRQs).

Restart and re-install the driver.

If your mobo has a Via chipset, get the latest 4-in-1 update with the patches to the AGP channel. Do this anyway, if you haven't already. :)

I hope this helps
