Running XP Home (SP2) with Symantec's Norton Anti-virus 2004. We are not able to download email using iether Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express 6 with Norton AV Email scanning enabled
On each occasion server disconnects and presents error 0x800CCCOF
We've tried making ccapp.exe an exception in the new windows firewall, to no avail: Tried allowing ports 25 and 110 through the firewall, to no avail and tried adding outlook.exe to the firewall exception list, again without success.
The only way we can transfer emails is by disabling Norton AV's email scanning feature which totally negates the purpose of buying Symantecs software in the first place.
We've not been able to find a satisfactory answer the websites of Symantech or Microsoft.
We wonder if anyone else has experienced such difficulties and has figured out a workarround/fix - Simply disabling email scanning, as symantec seem to suggest in their manual, is NOT an option
Any advice greatfully received
