I'm having trouble shutting down my PC. It has XP with SP1. When I shut down it stalls on Saving your settings. I have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off. Does anyone know if there is a patch available to fix this?

Regards..

Karl

Navigate to c:\windows\system32

Locate the file shutdown.exe and right-click, select create a shortcut.

Drag the shortcut to your desktop. Right-click the shortcut, Properties, and modify the end of the target line by adding -f -s To create a reboot shortcut do the same thing but modify the ending by inserting instead -f -r

Best.
