While working online my system all of sudden restarted on me. I am running an AMD 1000 with 640 megs of ram. 2 hard drive 20 and 40 gigs. A NVida 32 meg video card. My internet connection is through AOL Plus satelite. Everytime it gets ready to reboot a message comes up...2nd network connection unplugged and then it goes down. I just replaced the power supply and have checked all of my setting and everything is ok. Please help.

The connection is still using the phone line and is connected via USB if that makes a difference. It has been doing this for about 3 months now.

Does this reset occur regularly?
What OS are you using?

Check for overheating on the parts.
Disconnected network connections shouldn't affect your reset problem.
Make sure to check for viruses and trojans.
Any other info would be useful. ~Apex1x

I am running XP PRO and I am not set up on any network, other than AOL stuff. I am thinking about going back to 2000 Pro.

Some more helpful information to post if it happens again would be the actual error information. You can set your computer to not automatically reboot by right clicking on My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Startup & Recovery Settings button, uncheck Automatically restart. Now you will have time to see the error and copy it down.

You can also check the event viewer to see what errors are listed at the time of the crash. Start, Run, eventvwr.msc

You may want to look for updated drivers & info about your USB network adapter (if I understood correctly, that's what you've got).
