XP Pro (SP2) Hangs without external USB device

Hi,

I have WinXP Pro (SP2) on Dell Latitude D800 Notebook.

If I connect external USB device (USB Mouse/Extern hard-drive/Printer) the system works fine.

But if I remove all these devices and restart, the system hangs either on startup or after starting.

In short the system needs any USB connected device to run properly.

Any suggestions.

Let me clarify:

There has to be at least one USB device to avoid hanging?
