Windows XP Pro upgrade was used on a PC, then the power outage happen and the user used goback to go the original XP home edition by mistake somehow. How can I get the PC back to the XP pro edition. The default go back that is installed on the PC does not show a date that is needed for the XP Pro version. What can I try?

Get any valuable data (including E-mails etc.) off the machine and save it some where.

You can use the Upgrade version of Pro to perform a clean install. You will be required to slip in a qualifying product like a XP Home, 98 or ME CD in the early part of the clean install just so PRO can check you qualify.

I was wondering anyway that I can go in the computer and tell it to reinstate itself to a week ago, when it had XP pro.

In this situation it is not a likely possability. GoBack literally restores your system to a specific point. This will mean that all of your XP Pro files are likely gone. Your only option would be a data retreival utility to get back any important data.

That being said it would not bring the Xp Pro install back, Linney gives you the best advice in his post.
