Actually, some of our W2K machines do this as well. You'll just be on the network working and it will come up with a bubble saying you are offline now. This happens in all of our offices. Any ideas?
. Think about replacing the router(s)/swith(s)
. Make certain you have not overspecified the connection: e.g., setting a fixed speed for the NIC at 100/full duplex when connected to a hub. Set all NIC proprties to Auto determination of speed and duplex.
You did not specify whether you were using static IPs or DHCP. If the latter, there is certainly a hardware connection issue.
You don't mention what OS your file servers are running, and what SP level they are at. Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed on your servers (and workstations).
