Hello,

I have a problem on our network. We have a Windows 2000 Server as the domain controller. The clients are configured by another Windows 2000 Server w/ DHCP. Our network works great on all of our pre- Windows XP machines (98,etc...). However, all of our Windows XP PRO clients experience strange problems on the network. Sometimes they see the workgroup computers other times they do not. Sometimes rebooting the machine fixes it sometimes it does not. I can figure it out. Anyone have any ideas?

Regards,

Sorry,

I mean "I can't figure it out".....

:)

NO we are not running a WINS server. I will go ahead and set one up and see if that helps. Thanks. Is there anything I need to look out for in setting up a WINS server?

Thanks for the help.

All of the machines in our network sign on to the domain controller but some of them have their own workgroup. I checked the above article and it did not help. Should I go ahead and setup a WINS server?
