We have 2 locations. We only use XP Pro computers.

At the branch office, we use Mic. Remote Desktop Connection to connect to an XP Pro computer at headquarters. In the Remote Desktop Options > Local Resources Tab, we check Printers. When Remote Desktop is used to connect to the XP Pro computer at Headquarters, it can print a Windows Test page to a local USB Dymo 440 Label printer. It can't print with Remote D.top & the USB Dymo 440 from a Trading app. that we use.(The trading app. is only installed on computers at Headquarters. This is why we use Remote Desktop at the Branch office.).

There are no errors. We never see the trading app.'s print job in the print queue.

Do you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

boston33,

If I did't read this wrong:

Every thing is functioning correctly and it is just that you do not see the print job in the que.

If that is correct; this is a common occurrence on networks not with standing how the printers are connected.

Basically, printers, net connection devices, printserver devices etc all have memory used to spool print jobs,. Depending on the size of this spool and the print job size, it can hit the server que and spool off so fast that you might not even see it.

If you can generate an unusually large print job or a stack of snaller jobs and flood them to the printer you should be able to create a large enough que that you will see it. You essentially need to fill the spooling areas so that the server que is waiting for access.

Hope I got the question correct

rvnguy,

Thanks for the reply.

Test pages print from the control panel to the USB Dymo with Remote Desktop.

I can't get the trading application to print to the USB Dymo with Remote Desktop & r.desktop. With just the trading app., I can't get any hard copies.

Thanks for your help.

as the trading app & printer is on the remote pc when you check the printer in local resources you are telling the RD session to use your local printer (not the dymo). Uncheck the printer box and try it again.

Merry non denominational winter festival!!!
