I am in desperate need of help.....Bought an XP PRO OEM on EBAY--(my mistake) - undisclosed by the seller this was a reinstall disk for XP PRO on DELL machines. By luck, I have a DELL machine, although this reinstall will not go on. I've formatted three different times, I cannot get past the error "setup cannot copy the file clspack.exe" if I skip this file, I get more java files that cannot copy. I've done research on the internet and cannot find any solutions.......anyone with ideas on this problem. OR anyone having experience with a bad sell on eBay??

It could be down do a scratched disk. Dell may of made the disk so that it is only good for specific dell machines. Can you get past the point of the files not being copied, perhaps by clicking on ignore if that option is available and if so will the install continue?

Ultimatly you have been mis-sold an item and as such are entitled to a refund.

First of all Ebay do not allow the selling of OEM software unless it is sold with hardware. See for details.

Secondly eBay offer a buyer protection policy which will allow you to claim you money back if the seller will not give you a refund. You have to claim within a certain number of days and you are only entitled to a certain amount. You can find more details here
Note: The ebay links are for the UK ebay site. The information may be slightly different if you are located in another country.

Any feed back is appreciated.

Greg,
Thank you for the EBAY links. By ignoring the file that would not copy, only led to many more files that would not copy. I have finally got it to install, pretty much with a scratch disk.....anyway, this has been a nightmare to fix and I will be working the Buyer Protection Plan.
Thanks again!!
