I have a XP pro workstation that can't connect to a share folder on some NT4 server(stand alone) of our network. I have administration rights on all of our servers. I am logged on my computer domain and not on our network domain.(because i have a notebook and i travel a lot). Same setup as i had before when i was on Win2k. By this time, i had no problems at all. Also, i cannot connect to a share on my friend's computer with Win2K. I need help !!! Thank's .

When you say you can't connect to a share - how exactly are you trying to do this and what error messages (if any) are you getting and/or odd behaviour?

As far as I know you cannot connect to a share within a workgroup if you are not logged on to the domain. Yes your user on the domain may have full rights but you are not logged on as THAT user. You can still use your domain logon when you are away from work. Simply add the domain group that you belong to to your local administrators account. Log on to the domain and see if you can access the share. If you can then log on to the domain everytime you boot your computer. Even if you are not connected your settings and documents are all stored locally so it shouldn't be a problem. That is unless you have a roaming profile. Hope this helps.

Thank's for your reply. I solved the problem. My user didn't told me that i has changed his password on his notebook account. So even if his user was on the server as a local user, the password was not the same so he could not map a drive from this server. Sorry to disturbed you for this dump thing. Excuse my english. ! [peace]
