Not sure if this is possible or if I am using the correct syntax, but here goes. I have obtained a evaluation copy of SQL Server and I would like to do some testing and development at home. I think I need to create a domain-based network at home in order to test the install and operations properly.
My question, is there a way for me to configure my Win XP Pro computer to act as a domain controller? I currently have a small Workgroup based network at home that uses a Router for DHCP support.
Ideally I would like to sort of copy the network environment that I use at work. Then I will be able to use my laptop as a testing client in both networks...
Thank,
Chris

Not that I've been able to find. The XP version of 2000 server is .Net, which is slated for release 1/2 past when we all retire.

Only way to do it would be to set up a PDC using 2000 server.

I suspected as much. I think I will bring home an old NT box and use that as PDC.

Thanks,
Chris
