Has anyone ran into problems with XP Pro after installing a Networked printer? Everything runs great until we install a networked HP 8100 printer. After that, everything slows down. Just to bring up the printer properties takes about 5 minutes. We have the correct drivers installed according to HP. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could try installing it locally - as if it were phyically attached to the xp machine. Then, in the printer properties, manually change the port designation to //servername/sharename.

I had a similar issue with a Win2k computer. The computer had a local printer defined, but didn't have a local printer connected to the computer. I deleted the local printer definition, and everything worked fine.
