I have searched the KB and haven't found any help so, before I trash the computer, curse Bill Gates, etc., etc., I thought I'd see if anyone here has run into this problem.

My printer has quit. Original error message was something like:
"Spooler subsystems app encountered an error and is closing."
Now, I have a job in the que that will not print or delete. I can't add a printer. I can't delete a printer. I can't start or stop print services. It's like the thing is stuck. Reboot changes nothing.
I'm thinking that if I could get the print job out of the que then maybe it would go back to working?? Like it is a corrupt file thingy?
Any ideas anyone??

Thanks, I'll try it first thing in the morning when I get to that machine.

Also go to run or command prompt and input
net start spooler
Usually when you get that error its because the spooler service either shut down or did not start. If this solves the print problem, look in event viewer to see what fault has occured and then you have a place to start to find out why it isn't started. You can in services set the spooler to restart on first error.

If all else fails you could try the System Restore program to get back to a restore point when everything worked.

Restart in safe mode, remove the printer, reboot, reinstall the printer.
