I have Windows and Office XP installed on a stand alone PC with dial up connnnection to my ISP. I use Outlook as my mailer and when using email I get repeated requests for a Network password which I cannot get accepted when I try all my normal passwords. This does not appear unless Outlook is open.
I would be grateful if anyone has a solution to kill it off
Thanks
Mike

Go into contol panel, mail settings, change email accounts, advanced, and change password authentication to none.
Let me know if that sounds viable.

Hi kippy13,
Thanks for you interest, here's what happened and I still have te password screen cming back

Started with Control Panel
Chose Mail
Chose E-MAIL Accounts
Chose View or Change existing E-Mail Accounts
Selected first account ( I have two accs with same ISP)
Selected Change
Internet E-Mail Settings (POP3)
Chose More Settings
Chose Advanced Tab - no mention of passwords
However Outgoing Server Tab had tick box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" but it was not ticked

The second account does not have a tick either

Any suggestions where I go next?

I've tried ISP Tech Support who say it is OS problem

Sorry, is it outlook or outlook express u are using?
I had thought it was outlook but its looking more like OE
