I recently purchased a new computer and installed all my apps and data on it. It came with XP Media Center which I found out is not upgradable to Windows XP pro. I need XP Pro because I need to install IIS and the other Admin Tools. I then purchased the complete (Not the upgrade) version of XP Pro with SP2 included.
How do I install this complete program on my computer
without having to re-install all the applications? Can I
just uninstall Media Center and then install XP Pro from
the CD? Or, can I back up my entire hard drive to an
external drive and then install XP Pro? Any help you can
give me will be appreciated. By the way, Does Vista
Premium home come with the ability to install IIS?
I don't want to break the seal of this XP Pro package
if I can't use it. Again, thanks for the advice.

According to this site the answer is "No".

Internet Information Server [5] is not included in Home Premium.

Windows XP Home or Vista Home Premium do not come with a Web server such as PWS (Personal Web Server) or IIS (Internet Information Service) like previous Windows. You need to get a third party web server such as Xitami or Apache.

In XP there is no supported upgrade path from Windows XP Pro
to Windows Media Center Edition. A "clean install" is required.

You'd have to do a clean install (you can't 'upgrade').
