I have a problem with my login and shut-down menus.
I was changing the networking settings of a dial-up account. I went to 'Networking' clicked the 'Install' button, selected 'Client' and pressed add.
The problem is, when go to shut down the system, instead of the standard XP shut-down menu (display window in middle of screen with three boxes 'Stand-By', 'Turn-Off' and 'Restart') appearing a menu similar to the one that used to appear for Windows ME shut-down appeared (a display window with the same options but in a drop-down menu).
A similar problem occurs at the login to windows. When the machine boots to the windows login screen, instead of listing the user accounts down the right hand side of the page, windows displays a small display box in the middle of the screen making you choose the user from a drop-down menu.
My question's are:
Does anyone know if there is there a setting that will allow me to change the shut-down menu and login screen back to there defaults?
Also, Would anyone have any idea to why changing a dial-up setting would / could cause these changes?
Thanks,
CherryB
