I upgraded to XP and it kept all of my files but I am having two problems with it. When I first log on a message keeps coming up that it can't find my network card. It is clearly in place and when I log onto the internet it works perfectly, so I know XP has found it, how do I get rid of this message?

Secondly after thirty seconds or so a message comes up that c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe has terminated unexpectedly and Windows has to restart. It gives me the error code -1073741819

I don't want to have to uninstall XP, but i can't have it keep rebooting itself every thirty seconds.

Goto Microsoft UpDates and update all Critical Updates.
Turn on the Mirosoft build in fire wall before connection to the internet.

You probably won't have enough time to download the whole lot if you're missing a few. MS KB835732 cures the buffer overrun which is causing the shutdown. After that, update your antivirus, clear the virus using the tool available from Symantec and then run windows update fully.
