Hi guys,

I have a Syntax p4s650gxm motherboard. If I install WinXP Pro Spanish, everything goes fine. But I tried to install XP Pro English (OEM, Retail, etc) and I always get an error message in the 2nd. installation screen (not the blue one where the cd boots).... has anyone got this problem before?

Are you sure that the CD isnt damaged?
What is the error message exactly?

I thought it also, but I tried with 2 different CD's... here is what I am going to do next: Try with two CD's provided directly by MS: The OEM version and one of Volume licensing. If they don't work, the problem would be the PC... I'll let you know on Friday. Happy Holidays!

256 MB. If it was the RAM, then XP Spanish should also give me some trouble when installing... or not?...

You're right. I'll try it today, and let you know on Friday.

Another Question, are you trying a clean Install or an install over the Spanish version?

the errors could be caused by incompatibilities of the two diff languages and the associated files...

Ben

Happy Holidays and Season Greetings...

Well, both CD's weren't damaged, but as I told you, I tried the volume licensing CD and it worked out. Don't know what happened... just know that everything is fine now :)
