XP Home Password missing :(

I recentley purchased a Compaq computer with XP home edition.When I try to enter it ask for password.The original owner is clueless.Is there a way to delete the password or should I reinsttall XP?

If you just bought it I would delete the partitions and start from scratch. Then you can set it up your way from the ground up.

There are also password utilities available if you're not up to a re-install. These would require you to download the software onto a boot diskette and boot on your home PC using that diskette. There's lots of info about this in other threads as well.

If you can't find one, let me know - I've used such a utility before to get into a W2K system previously.
