Hello All,

I'm running Windows XP home and when I copy large files or a large number of files (I.e. during an install of an application) XP gets slower and slower.

When I start the copy XP runs fine, but after a while it comes to a 99% stand still.

The HDD keeps running and it sounds like windows is writing stuff to the HDD, but the copy just never ends...

Now I'm trying to install Visual Studio .NET and it's taking more than 4 hours now...

I hope somebody can help me with this problem

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

Hi,

Already tried that... Didn't help

It is during the copy/install that the system becomes very slow... When the copy/install is done, the hdd keeps on doing something for a short period and then the system runs fine again...
