So many eh! (hic.)
A client wants to change his operating system to XP. I have been asked if the programs I have recently written will still work under the new system. I can`t really see any problems but as the network does strange things any way, I thought I`d just check if it was a sensible idea.

Thanks for the response

I just found a new issue, though you shouldn't have any trouble working around it using WinXP compatibility layers: The Setup Wizard uses a 16 bit Setup.exe, and some windows XP installations refuse to run the 16 bit program.

VFP6 is 32 bit though, and we haven't had any issues with IT on XP.

When XP first came out, there were "many" reported problems on upgraded systems, but on new systems and clean installs these seemed to disappear. It was speculated that there Registry issues that simply weren't being handled properly in the upgrade process.

I've been running VFP 6 & 7 (~ 50% / 50%) on an clean install for 3 days short of a year, and haven't noticed any real problems. (Especially after installing the 4.83 Novell client.)

Note: I ran on NT 4.0 SP6a prior to this.
