Put a music CD in CD Player on XP, Pop up window "Audio CD (D:)" pops up, with three selections: a) Play Audio CD using Windows Media Player, 2) Open folder to view files, 3) Take no action.

Select 1) Play Audio... it opens up Windows Media Player, but comes up with WMP-Error: Cannot play back the auto stream, no audio hardwareis available...

When system was NT2k, pop a cd in an it played off of the head set...

Suggestions?

Some things to check out.

also check to make sure that your sound card is installed properly...go into the device manager and make sure that your sound card is working properly. even try downloading new soundcard drivers and installing them...if that doesn't work, doing a windows update should solve your problem.
