Hi all,
Just wondering if XP can be installed over 2000 pro. I have a computer with win 98 and 2000 on it and I just want XP but do not know what it will take to save all the stuff and still i9nstall XP. Help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Paul

I think you would be happiest with a clean install, meaning removing existing partitions and formatting the drives so that XP will install clean.

Use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to move your data and settings. It will not transfer applications. You can run the Wizard directly from the XP CD.

The XP upgrade CD will allow an over-the-top installation, but most users have experienced that it is decidedly better to do the clean install.
