We currently use the Redvers parser/generator products for processing XML in our COBOL applications on the mainframe.
We have plans to move to a later version of the COBOL compiler which has some XML support, e.g. 'XML PARSE' statement.
It seems that the amount of code we have to write would not change if we switched to using the Z/OS features. In fact, it looks like we have to do more coding.
My question is, then, if anybody has had experience of both solutions, and can provide any advice or tips on their use. For example, is Z/OS quicker than Redvers?
