I'm hoping someone can help me.
I work for a company that makes large annual reports in Quark. The layout is simple - lengthy editorial sections including tables but no graphics, around 30,000 words; followed by a directory of client adverts that follow a set, text-based (no graphics) structure. These are published in print and online simultaneously.
At the moment we run a system whereby the documents are processed in Quark and concurrently in Word. The XML documents for the website are run out from Word because we can't find an XML plug in for Quark that works adequately. Does any one know of an alternative to Atomik Roundtrip, the software I've been testing recently?
Also, does anyone else share my slightly disappointed appraisal of Atomik Roundtrip with Quark? I'm running Quark 6.5 with Roundtrip on a PC. I find editing content in Quark not very practical (as it's very difficult to move laid out content around) - and there are bugs in the page update system that make it impossible to use. Is it better on Quark 7? Also crashes and is very slow when we work with the amount of content we want to.
Any assistance from anyone would be great.
Thanks
LW
