XI Webi V Full Client Reporter XI 2

I am pretty new to XI R2 and was wondering if someone with more knowledge than me would be able to answer a question I have about XI.

I have worked extensively with 6.5.1 and understood the functionality differences between webi and the full client reporter where webi didnt have all the functionality of the full client version.

Could anyone list the functionality differences with XI R2 webi and XI full client as I need to understand these (if there still are any) for an upgrade document I am writing.

Most everything is available. The function language is different, but it's pretty complete.

WebI has more powerful query techniques than client now. Rankings can be applied in the query panel.

The biggest difference is that WebI can still only use Universes as a data source. No personal files.

I think also WebI has has limit on the number of rows it can return from a Query (Max 10,000)....but someone else should confirm that limit and if that limit applies to Desktop Intelligence XI also.

There are no limits on either. Any limits you have are at the universe level. You have to make sure to turn of the limit. I've built WebI reports that return 200,000 rows.

Steve - thanks to your tip I found my issue, I was confused by the parameter "maximum number of rows fetched" in Universe Designer -> Tools - it has a 10,000 limit but only effects the Designer.

What I actually needed to uncheck was the "Limit size of result set to" parameter under File -> Parameters -> Controls.
