Hi Everyone...

I'm a "converting" IT guy (MCSE) who needs some Solaris/Unix help! I am trying to install Solaris_10 on a Dell GX1. It is an accepted model in the HCL and meets all required HW Requirements.

I have 2 hdd's available (ide1 (20g) ide2 (40g)), floppy and CD-ROM.

How do i create a boot-cd from Windows XP, to start the Solaris install? I have downloaded the solaris10 06/06 and executed them to get the *.iso. I have also downloaded the lang_pack. i am familiar only with creating a "windows/dos" type boot floppy - is it similar?

Thanks in advance,

The *.iso files are CD images. You need to burn CDs of those images. Your CD burning software should have an option to burn a CD image from those files. The first one can them be used to boot the machine and start the install. It will prompt for other CDs during the install.

Hope this helps.
