X Windows Desktop 'Shortcuts'

I'm trying to add a link/shortcut for a unix shell script to the X-Windows desktop. The script currently resides in /usr/lib/powerchute but I don't want to have to go through loads of windows to get at it.

Has anyone any ideas?
