X-session from HP 712 - Solaris

New to Unix, Ijust purchased an HP 712 worstation and an Ultra Sparc 5 workstation. How can I run an X-Windows session on the Sparc station from the Hp Workstation

Are you trying to run a full blown login session or just run some apps from the hp box? If it's just apps, telnet into the hp box, set your $DISPLAY variable (export DISPLAY=192.168.0.1) to the sun box, then you can start an app on the hp box and have it appear on the sun box. If you use ssh you shouldn't have to set the $DISPLAY variable. I'm not familiar w/ hp so i can't tell you how to get X on the hp box to listen to XDMCP requests, which would let you log into X on the hp just as if you were sitting in front of it.

Alternatively, U can have VNC Viewer software...
