WuauBoot.exe Problem 1

When I am on my computer most of the time I get the message:

Wuauboot has caused an error in WUAUBOOT.EXE
Wuauboot will now close
If you continue to experince problems,
try restarting your computer

What does this mean and How do I fix the problem

Can any one help me

Howdy:

The Automatic Updates component is the replacement for the Critical Update Notifier. It is designed to send critical updates from the Windows Update Web site to your computer without requiring user intervention.

To change the behavior of Automatic Updates, use the Automatic Updates tool in Control Panel.


Alternatively, you can go into msconfig>Startup and uncheck the file.

Copied from elsewhere WUAUBOOT.EXE refers to 'Windows Update Autoboot'. Suggestions are visit the Windows update site and install latest patches and/or use msconfig for example to stop it being run (or edit registry entry to remove it or use a tool which will do this for you - like power tools at
