Hi All,

Several hours after synchronizing security updates from Microsoft site, I discover from my application events log that WSUS can not start. Bellow is the detail of the log.

(Connection to database failed. Reason=SQL Server does not exist or access denied. Connection String: Data Source=servername\wsus;Initial catalog=susdb;Connection timeout=60;Application Name=WSUS SQL connection;Trusted connection=yes;pooling='true';Max pool.)

I checked t system service and confirmed that SQLAGENT$WSUS could not start. When I tried to start it, it gave this error message. (Could not start the SQLAGENT$WSUS Service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The depedency service does not exiost or has been marked for deletion.)

Please, what can I do to get MY WSUS running.

Thanks

Have you checked the dependencies tab to see which services it depends on? Then you can check if they are running. That would be the first thing I'd do.
