WSS 3.0 Upgrade Error

We have run the prescan utility with no errors reported.

We are trying to do an inplace upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0 and are running into the following error:

The Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard encountered an error and must be closed.
An exception of type System.ArgumentNullException was thrown. Additional exception info: Value cannot be null. Paramenter name: password.

Any ideas?
