On a WS-C2948G-L3 does it use DC current or AC current?

HEre is a link on the DC version of this switch. If you do not have the DC indicator on your hardware then i am assuming that you the AC version.

So how does one connect and power on the DC version?

Assuming you don't have a DC supply locally where the switch is, you can use an AC-DC inverter which can be sourced from anywhere (just google DC AC inverter)
