Would FreeBSD detect the 3com905B automatically?

Hi

i mean, would FreeBSD recognize the 3com905B-TXNM during the installation procedure or must i install the driver via the network setup or by floppy? If i have to install the driver what is the drivers name?

The generic kernel includes the device that supports that card.

I use that card and it installs automatically at install, but if it does not add a line to your rc.conf file similar to this one:

ifconfig_xl0="inet 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.0"

See if that helps out
