System: ASROCK Dual-sata 2 m/b, AMD64 3000+ venice, 2x256mb DDR400, 80gig Ide Hd.

I'm currently running XP pro 32bit. Will upgrading to XP pro 64bit make significantly improve performance?

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm wondering the same thing.

possibly - but check the driver situation first - there's a lot less support for 64 bit XP. Ditto software (eg, anti-virus).

I have installed both 32 and 64 bit on a test machine (also Vista beta 32 & 64 bit) - the 64 bit semed a bit quicker - but I've not really run anything to seriously check that.

Depends on what you do and if there are 64bit apps for what you do. The OS is minimaly faster with 32bit apps, and some times slower.
