Yet another example of government jacking stuff up again... I can see patenting something you build, or something you create (hardware/software) but just the generic IDEA of the automated sales page??? Come on now... isn't that what PHP/Perl/ASP/...... [the list goes on] supposed to help you make. Pretty soon teh governemt needs to learn that the net is NOY just another resource that falls under laws previously instated. It has to be dealt with differently because of its open infrastructure. Just my opinion....

Craziness..IP litigation seems to have become
big business and individuals and corps without
scruples(and probably viable products)are cashing in on governments that have tied themselves to an increasingly desperate bid to regulate ideas in lieu of understanding
and embracing new economic ideas.
I hope that this kind of patent/idea robbery will
create a big enough backlash that some of the nastier
pieces of Ip law and resultant legislation(DMCA??)will
implode.
