I have recently installed a windows 2003 domain controller and since doing that I'm finding that my Windows XP machines seem to lose their credentials so when I try to access network shares or network printers (all connected off the server) I get prompted to login to access the resource.

When I log out of the network and then back in everything is fine. Seems like it happens when the machines sit idle for a while.

Any ideas?

Check the properties of your network cards under power management. I'll bet that they are set to allow the OS to disable the cards. Change that from the default checked state to not checked and I think your problem will go away.
