Hi Folks! :-D

Quick question: why my workstation is not being listed in the Network Neighborhood anymore? It used to be and I used to exchange files with other coworkers through the network but no more.

I can still "see" the other computers and I can copy files from the others in to mine. I can "see" the server (even other servers in the in the corporate network) but no mine :-(!

Environment: Server with Win NT4.0 (latest SP), about 15 workstations (Win 98). In mine I have an Intel Pro/100 + Management Adapter.

I also removed the network files/drivers and reinstalled the latest upgrade (from Intel site) for the NIC above mentioned.

Any clue?

Thanks in advance for your time!

Do you have the file & print sharing enabled?. Although it may be installed, there is an option to disable either of them.

BINGO! That was easy, no? :-D

I completely overlooked that. I was searching for something wrong in the system configuration (driver/ subnet mask/ parameters in my account in the server/ configuration of the NIC card). I absolutely forgot to check that (once the service was shown in the network configuration).

Thanks!
