Yes, ospf uses multicast and that should pass through the switch. no problem here.

If you only have two routers, why even bother configuring a routing protocol? Static routes would be more than sufficient, unless you want to configure OSPF just for the experience.

what i have is 2 routers with internet on them then a few more connecting up to them want to be able if one site goes down switch over to the other site

Ah, then OSPF is a great idea. Are you also running BGP or are you using static routing for Internet access?

the firewalls are sonicwalls that support ospf, right now static routes is what i am using
